OpenStudy (zeesbrat3):

If water and hydrogen peroxide both consist of hydrogen and oxygen atoms can you explain why they have different chemical and physical properties?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you get an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, answer is ....this is becuz they can have different potential and electronegativity since they are strongly bonded as a Molecule.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

water is H2O while hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. the later there two oxygen connected by a single bond (O-O), which can produce highly reactive oxygen species. but in water the O is linked to H only. in simple terms the difference is due to bonds (electron sharing)
