the formation of solid argon is due to van der waal's bonding. In the case of potential energy as a function of inter-atomic separations can be written as(lennard johnes 6-12 potential energy)e(r)=-ar^-6+b^-12 where 'a' and 'b' are constants a=8.0*10^77jm^6and b=1.12*10^-133jm^12,the bond length for solid argon is: a)3.75nm b)0.0375nm c)0.375nm d)0.750nm which is correction and how with solution?

The bond length will where the potential energy is lowest. So take the derivative with respect to r of the Lennard-Jones function, set it equal to zero, solve for r.
