You need to multiply or divide two of the equations so that when you add the equations together, you can eliminate one of the variables

well before we solve this just want to know if you are aware about determinants , if so cramers rule is a great method

I saw this same problem type given in an Algebra II class yesterday, way ahead of doing much with matrices... seems like they get introduced to the systems of equations early, then come back later with the better "tools" to work them :)

step 1: subtract second equation from 3rd name the resultant equation as equation 4 step 2: multiply equation 1 by 4 and equatin 3 by 3, then add them name the resultant equatin as equation 5 step 3 solve equations 4 and 5 , i.e. either eliminate x or y, and you will obtain one value
