How many grams of acetic acid (C-2 H-4 O-2) would you use to make 10L of a 0.1mole aqueous solution of the acetic acid? (Note: The atomic weights, in daltons, are approximately 12 for carbon, 1 for hydrogen, and 16 for oxygen)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, find how many moles you need. Molarity = moles of solute/1L of solution Therefore, the moles needed would be 0.1M/10L =0.01 moles of acetic acid 0.01 x 60g (from 60g/1mole, the added amu/daltons of acetic acid) =0.60 grams of acetic acid
