Write the balanced molecular and net ionic equations for each of the following neutralization reactions. (a) Aqueous acetic acid (HC2H3O2) is neutralized by aqueous barium hydroxide. (b) Solid chromium(III) hydroxide reacts with nitrous acid. (c) Aqueous nitric acid and aqueous ammonia react.

OpenStudy (nali):

@oOKawaiiOo can u help me with the first part i need help in writing the net equation

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

a) CH3COOH + Ba(OH)2 ---> (CH3OO-) + (BaOH+) + H20

OpenStudy (nali):

and then what do u cancel exactly?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

u dont cancel, you take one H from acetic acid and OH from barium hydroxide to make water.

OpenStudy (nali):

but is not every neutralization reaction has a net ionic equation of H+ + OH- ---> H2O

OpenStudy (nali):

It is ok i found it in my textbook

OpenStudy (nali):

but can i ask a question about the first question i asked
