balance CuS(s)+ HNO3(aq) ‐> Cu^2+(aq) + SO4^2-(aq) + NO

Where's the H in the products?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

This is a redox reaction, but the copper isn't part of it, since it doesn't change its oxidation state. Find the oxidation states of all the pieces, then see which pieces change their charge. Split the reaction into its half-reactions, balance each half-reaction separately, then add them back together again. The H+ in the products will be added as part of the individual balancing of the half-reactions
