Why are solutions of acids and bases often good conductors of electricity?
Can someone explain me about acids and bases I am kind of confused
I am learing about acids and bases and I read my text book but I am still confused
Acid, Salt and Base solutions are all good conductors of electricity
I dont understand why?
And what makes an acid an acid and a base a base
They are good conductors of electricity because when acid/bases enter a solution they deionize (separate into ions) which helps conduct electricity. Also acid = anything below pH of 7, base = anything above pH of 7.
So zepp, can you please explain what an acid is and what a base is
Seng are you here?
How can I tell of the equation os acidic or basic in this question
Bases generally have hydroxyl groups or HCO3- and acids generally just have an H+. For example in your question HNO3 is an acid and KHCO3 is a base.
HCO3 is called a bicarbonate group btw.
