Given: Each block has masses m1 = m2 = m3 = m and the coefficient of kinetic friction is μ. The magnitude of F equals twice the total frictional force. Apply a horizontal force F in pushing an ar- ray of three identical blocks in the horizontal direction. Find the acceleration.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer is a=2 μg , just wanted to check my answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 1 (mu)g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a=2 μg is correct as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3ma= 6 mu m g - 3 mu m g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no a= 1 mu m g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats not listed as one of my options. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry... acceleration will be (mu* g) only

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. a = g 3 2. a = 3 μ g 3. a = 3 g 4. a = μ g 2 5. a = g 2 6. a = μ g 3 7. a = 2 g 8. a = g 9. a = 2 μ g 10. a = μ g Those are my options would that be number 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanky you i beleive i got it now, you just subtract the right side then divid by three to get the acceleration?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks again!
