A normal equation for the plane passing through the points(-3,-1,4) ,(-1,-2,4) , and (-6,2,1) is ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to find a normal vector to the plane given this info?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really I am just screwed right now if you could show me I would appreciate it. I have a big test tomorrow.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Well, when you're given three points you can get two vectors which lie on the plane. In this case the vectors are: \[\vec{a}=<-1-(-3),-2-(-1),4-(-3)>=<2,-1,7>\]\[\vec{b}=<-6-(-3),2-(-2),1-(4)>=<-3,4,-3>\]

To get a normal vector to the plane, take the cross-product of these two vectors. Let me know what you get.

I will try
