a compound contains 77.4% C, 7.5% H and 15.1% N by weight. its molar mass measured by mass spectrometry is 190.12 g/mol. what is its molecular formula? the answer is C12H14N2 , can you help me understand how we got it?

If you multiply the percentages by the molecular weight you will get the following values for carbon: 147Da, hydrogen: 14Da and nitrogen 28.7Da. So if you divide each of these by the atomic weight (12,1 and 14 respectively) you get roughly 12 carbons, 14hydrogens and 2 nitrogens per molecule.
