Find the remainder when f(x) is divided by (x - k) f(x) = 4x^3 - 6x^2 + 3x + 1; k= -2

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

You can use the remainder theorem So plug in k = -2 and evaluate f(x) = 4x^3 - 6x^2 + 3x + 1 f(-2) = 4(-2)^3 - 6(-2)^2 + 3(-2) + 1 f(-2) = -61 So the remainder is -61
