question about critical points when constructing a graph
What's the question?
ok, my fucntion is
\[\sqrt[3]{x^2-1}\]
the derivative is
\[\frac{ 2x }{ 3\sqrt[3]{(x^2-1)^2} }\]
Okay, so what's the question?
when i find the critical points, i set the numerator and denominator = 0 , or the entire f'(x)
or what is the best way to find critical points
i would say that the critical points are 0, +- 1
Okay, so you don't set the numerator or denominator to zero, but instead set the whole eqation to 0. Then you solve the equation.
ok, so my crit points would just be 0
If you could write out the original equation as a drawing, I could solve it. I can't really interpret the small numbers in the equation.
If your original equation is cuberoot(x^2-1), then critical point is only 0
yep :)
