How do you calculate the PH of a solution when given only the concentration (molarity)?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

It depends which substance is dissolved. It can be a : - strong acid - weak acid - strong base - weak base - amphiprotic substance All these cases lead to different ways of working out the value of pH.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint pH = -log[H+] which is essentially the concentration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pH = -log[H+] pH + pOH = pKw = 14
