The energy diagram shown represents the chemical reaction between solid ammonium chloride and solid barium hydroxide octahydrate: 2NH4Cl(s) + Ba(OH)2 x 8H2O(s)---->2NH3(aq)+BaCl2(aq)+10H2O(1) The (triangle then an H) for this reaction is 54.8 kJ. How much energy would be absorbed if 27.5 g of NH4Cl reacts?

Hi, You can post this in Chemistry, they might answer this..

The back of your book should show the delta H values for the compounds in this reaction I can't remember if the products' values are subtracted from the reactants or the other way around. I think it is Reactants Delta H - Products Delta H. Then I would multiply this by the moles of NH4CL you have (thats a guess tho) Hopefully this reminded you of something because I don;t think that I am completely right.
