What is the mass of H20 in kg.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

water has a density of 1.00g/mL therefore if you had 1 L of water, it would weigh 1 Kg

OpenStudy (aaronq):

are you talking about water or the molecule H2O?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??? the answer is 112kg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just says find the mass of h2o

OpenStudy (aaronq):

there has to be more information than that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha no! this is why im so conufused. I found the mass, ( i thought ) which was 18.02 then converted it to g which is 0.0180kg but i dont know where 112kg came from...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you go from moles to mass?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yes you can if you have the number of moles you can multiply it by the molecular mass (which for oxygen is 18g/mol) and get the mass

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (aaronq):

but really if they just said find the mass of H2O, thats impossible, they have to give you more parameters
