The products of the reaction are solid mercury( I ) sulfide and aqueous sodium ions.Write a balanced equation for this reaction

^this is not correct. it says solid Hg2S and Na+ ions (mercury has a subcript of 2 and a superscript of 1+, so mercury(I) sulfide is Hg2S) Hg2+(aq) + Na2S(aq) --> Hg2S(s) + 2Na+(aq)

oh sorry, i didnt realize the (I) there meant the charge, i was guessing it was part 1 of the question :). My mistake, above is correct ^
