S has 6 valence electrons O has 6 valence electrons so i should see 24 valence electrons in the molecule, but the attached snap shows only 20 molecules, what happened to remaining 4 valence electrons ?

it is because there are missing hydrogen atoms or if it relates to sulfurous ion then there are electrons missing... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfurous_acid
