Equation so it's easier to read: \[\Delta x =vi+a(\frac{\Delta t _1}{2})\]

A proper 'proof' of this will probably require calculus. However, did you know that the area under the line \(v=at\) is the same as the distance? So using the formula for a triangle, you can find \(\Delta x = a(\Delta t^2/2) + some\_constant\) That some constant is \(v_i\), which you have to provide. Kinda hard to explain.

@muntoo is right, but the equation you gave is wrong then, because delta t is not squared
