A compound is composed of 24.27% Carbon 4.08% Hydrogen 71.65% Chlorine The compound has a molar mass of 98.96g A) What is the Empirical formula B) What is the Molecular formula C) If I have 12.05 grams of this compound how many molecules of this do I have?
I have answered a question exactly like this in the past, it is a fairly lengthy process (but not really. I dont have the time atm to find the question where I answered this but if you want to dig through my answered questions to find it be my guest
)
http://openstudy.com/users/australopithecus#/updates/503b5448e4b02c1631bd9522 not exactly the same but very close to this problem, you wont need to use ideal gas law
you can simply use the molecular mass to convert from the empirical to the molecular formula
Any questions feel free to ask but please go over what I wrote, your question works almost exactly the same
