A real estate company owns 180 apartments which are fully occupied when the rent is $300 per month. The company estimates that for each $10 increase in rent, five apartments will become unoccupied. What rent should be charged in order to obtain the largest gross income?
@ghazi
this is good lol
do you know how to do it?
i was told to set it up as \(Revenue=(180-5x)*(300+10x) \) but i dont know why and i dont know how to do this either
where x is the number of $10 increases
see, i think with each increase of $10 5 apartment is unoccupied so is the number of apartment unoccupied therefore revenue = (180-5x)*(300+10x) which means increase in $10 would just reduce 5 number of flats but will increase the gross revenue
okay but when i solve that i get 2.9999 for x
what was your revenue
when i solve it i get $54,450
is that correct?
yes, it seems correct
okay how can i check my answer?
well, sorry honestly i have no idea about this
okay no prom...thanks though :) ....@precal ?

sorry, do not have a clue
:\ ...okay
nevermind guys..i got it...i think.....watever
