HELP!! How can I factor x^3-4x^2+x+6? I tried factor by grouping and it didnt work.

do you understand that\[f(-1)=0\] implies x=-1 is a factor

o okay so we find the zeros of \[x ^{3} -4^{2} +x+6\] ?

or wait is it (x-3)*(X-2)*(x-1)?

yes but x+1 not x-1, how do you find it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is how i do it \[(x+1)(x^2+bx+6)\] so the b is any term that has an x^2 in the equation wich is -4 and we \[1+b=-4,b=-5\]
