post your question @Tasha
what is the L.C.M of 24,60 and 96 @Jessica_Moore
how u get that answer @Jessica_Moore
You think about what they both go into, all three. 480 goes into all.
i need to show working for it @Jessica_Moore
i tried telling you before by asking you what the prime factors are.
i didnt see u ask me dat @amistre64
ahh, i was wondering why you closed it and asked the same question again. That would explain it
i do this mentally, im sorry i dont know how to show the work.
so, what are the prime factors of 24?
is it, 1,2,6,12,24
and 3
those are the factors of 24, but im thinking more of just the prime numbers that multiply together to get 24; like this: 24 = 6*4 =2*3*2*2 the prime factorization of 24 is: 2,2,2,3
the prime factors of 60 are: 60 = 6 * 10 = 2*3*2*5 the prime factorization of 60 is: 2,2,3,5
can you do 96 for me?
umm..... 96=8*12 = 2*4*2*6
thats pretty good; but i see that we can take that even further; since they are not all primes yet 96 = 8 * 12 = 2*4*2*6 = 2*2*2*2*3 now its been reduced to all primes numbers
well, i forgot a 2 .... 96=8*12 = 2*4*2*6 = 2*2*2*2*2*3 ; thats better
now, once we have the prime factorizations, i use a method of lining up all the values and just it all down. 24: 2,2,2, 3 60: 2,2, 3,5 96: 2,2,2,2,2,3 ----------------- lcm: 2,2,2,2,2,3,5
therefore the lcm is the product of: 2*2*2*2*2*3*5 8 * 12 * 5 40 * 12 480
OKAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH @amistre64
youre welcome, and good luck
