OpenStudy (3psilon):

If a and b are in the domain of a function f and f(a) < f(b), which must be true (a) a = 0 or b = 0 (b) a < b (c) a>b (d) a not equal to b (e) a = b I don't get how to approach this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would go by process of elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) is just plain silly b) and c) are false because you have no idea what \(a\) and \(b\) are e) can't be right because if they were the same number, then when you evaluated the function you would get one number

OpenStudy (3psilon):

Wow thank you ! :) I should have approached it that way

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

(d) is the correct answer. if a is equal to be, f(a) would be the same as f(b), violating the assumption in the given that f(a) < f(b)
