A rock salt (NaCl), ice, and water mixture is used to cool milk and cream to make homemade ice cream. How many grams of rock salt must be added to water to lower the freezing point 10.2°C?
\[DeltaT=imK _{f}\]
m= molality= moles of solute/Kg of solvent
moles=mass/molar mass
Delta T = i ((mass/molar mass)/Kg of solvent) Kf isolate mass
see i know basically all of that but my problem is when i tried it the way i was learned except i was going backwards because its asking for the grams not the moles, it was wrong
good stuff (Y) as long you know how to do it now
sorry i meant to say the way it was taught to me
it's just a matter of making substitutions using formulas you know
i know but webassign is being a bum ! lol thats the homework website the question is on
haha yeah webassign has a pickle up its you-know-what with formatting too, good luck
Haha yeah. its insane and its extremely annoying when you have the correct answer but webassign thinks otherwise..so you have to put some bogus answer that makes absolutely no sense, but thanks ! :p
