A solution is made by dissolving 12.1 grams of calcium chloride, CaCl_2_, in enough water to make exactly 500 mL of solution. What is the concentration (molarity) CaCl_2_ in mol/L?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

you know the mass of CaCl2, and you know its formula, so you can find a molar mass. Use the molar mass to find the moles of CaCl2 that went into the solution, and divide by the volume to get concentration in (mol/L)
