What is the molar mass of Al(ClO2)3? Explain how you calculated this value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the numbers on the periodic table underneath the symbols of each element. to get the molar mass of each element, then add up however many there are of each. so aluminium is 27.0 Then there is Cl - which is 35.5 But the formula tells us there are three of them, so 3*35.5 O is 16.0 and 3*(16*2) equals 3*(32) Now add that all up: 27.0+(3*35.5)+(3*32) and you'll get the molar mass.

=220.5

Isn't it 229.5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're right, sorry, hit the wrong key.

It fine, thanks for the help! I was not sure where to start haha
