Provide equation for ionization of a weak acid in water solution?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

NH3 isn't a weak acid, it's a weak base. In general, any acid has the formula HA. All acids have a proton (H+) to donate, and some other component, (A-). When any acid dissocates in water, we always get\[HA(aq) \rightleftharpoons H^{+1}(aq) + A^{-1}(aq)\] or you can do the more full-blown version:\[HA(aq) + H_2O(l) \rightleftharpoons H_3O^{+1}(aq) + A^{-1}(aq)\]

Ah, crud... you're right. Very sorry for the bad information.

Thanksssssss!
