There is an equation for molecular kinetic energy. The average translational kinetic energy of molecules in a liquid (works for gases too) is given by K=3/2 kT, where k is the Boltzmann constant.

So really all we need to care about is the temperature and the answer will tell us how fast molecules are moving on the average.
