On the first example problem for session 32 (http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-02sc-multivariable-calculus-fall-2010/part-b-chain-rule-gradient-and-directional-derivatives/session-32-total-differentials-and-the-chain-rule/MIT18_02SC_we_15_comb.pdf) why is the partial derivative of w with respect to x only 3x^2+y? Shouldn't the y and z coefficients remain for the 3x^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are right..looks like a typo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definitely an error, not a typo. And the error is propagated throughout the rest of the solution, giving the wrong answer to the problem.

Avva -- Remove the "close paren" from the end of the URL. Then it loads.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is written 3x^2 yz + y so it is right the error is that dw/dy = x^3 z+ y while it has to be x^3 z+ x

@senecajim ThnX for the hint dun know how I missed it :/
