what is the temperature change if 83680 joules of heat are ADDED to 1KG of water?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

if i remember correctly 4.2 joules of energy will increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats alot of math to do lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, what's it for, home ec?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its for my IPC class or physics or chemistry whatever u wanna call it its for my hw but i skipped school today so i didnt get to finish the lesson on this specific subject so im trying to get help to understand it

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ok use this formula H = m * 4.2 * t where H is the heat energy added . m = mass of water in grams, and t = rise in temperature

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my formula would be H=1kg*4.2*83,680J??

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

no H = 83,680 so its 83,680 = 1000*4.2 * t now solve for t

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

need any more help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i think im good ^__^ thank uuu

OpenStudy (cwrw238):
