first one has zeros at \(-3\) and \(3\) it will be negative between them, positive outside you want where it is negative, your answer is \(-3<x<3\)

for the scone one, factor as \((x^2-5)(x^2+8)\) and then solve

Hmmm... The first one does not have a zero at x = 3, but that may make no difference for the eventual solution.

yes that is true, i should have said "the factors have a zero of -3 and 3" which would have been a better way to say it (since the first thing i said was wrong)
