Does electricity affect the pH of a substance? If i were to run electricity through orange juice for say, would the pH level change?

I'm only guessing here, but I'm guessing not, just because electric flow typically involves an equal amount of electrons in and out so the number of ions should remain the same. My only hesitation is that if the electricity induced a chemical reaction (for instance the way electroplating happens) perhaps there are some cases where the ions are "used up" and bond to the anode or cathode.

ph is the indication of H+ ions in your solution due to passage of electricity hydrogen gas is released and concentration of H+ decreases so the ph will increase
