OpenStudy (jfraser):

can you turn those names (potassium chloride) (silver acetate) into proper formulas?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the potassium ion (K+1) and the chloride ion (Cl-1) stick together because they are opposite charges. The silver ion and acetate ion do the same thing. A double replacement reactions swaps one ion from each reactant to make 2 new products. Is there any good reason why the positive potassium ion would "stick to" the positive silver ion?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

yup, nicely done

thank you!
