OpenStudy (aaronq):

does anyone know another way to find the Ksp of compound from first principles by another method other than by titration?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

and by titration i mean, titration with a voltmeter (argentometric potentiometry)

OpenStudy (jfraser):

to determine KSP without titrating, you can do a serial dilution from a known starting concentration. If you take 5 or 10 drops of an insoluble salt, dilute it with the same number of drops of water, you've just cut the concentration in half. Take half of that and dilute it with an equal volume of water and you've just cut the concentration in half again. Eventually, you'll reach the point where the concentration of the ions is lower than the concentration that the KSP allows there to be, and the precipitation won't occur.

thanks, i appreciate your response.
