How do I solve this expression? log5^250-log5^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have a graphing calculator??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty. Well I meant a scientific but I solved your problem and it came out to be 173.34

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, but do you know how to solve it without one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the base 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log_5(250)-\log_5(2)=\log_5(\frac{250}{2})=\log_5(125)\] is a start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then in exponential form this is \(5^y=125\) so \(y=3\)

Thanks
