Well pick a few, we're not going to go over the whole test with you :P
6,7, and 1 in the free response
I hope I'm not too late! 6: This is kind of a trick question. Only one of the substances can produce H2S: C. None of the other substances have a sulfide in them (E is sulfate, SO4). 7: This one is super simple. The final product has to be a solid. Only one of the reactions has a solid a solid as a product. Find it! 1: This one is very tricky and takes a while. You definitely need to spend 15 minutes (the allotted time) and you also need a solubility chart. This is how I would go about it. First's let's see how many ppts are formed by each substance. A=2, B=1, C=3, D=3, E=2 and F=1 Let's start with AgNO3, it's gonna react 5 times, and each reaction will create 2 compounds (double displacement). I know the compound that is formed with nitrate will always be soluble, so I only need to check what the silver forms. In order: AgNO3, AgNO3, AgCl, AgOH, Ag2CO3. I check these in my solubility table and AgCl and Ag2CO3 are insoluble. So AgNO3 should form 2 ppt. So it's either A or E. Repeat this with each of the compounds, finding out how many ppts are formed by each. Then, make guesses and see if it works!
