A star has a peak in its radiation at a frequency of 4.94x10^15 Hz. What is the surface temperature of this star?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not 100% on this but could you just use Wien's displacement law to calculate it \[T=b \lambda _{\max}\] Where b is Wien's Displacement Constant and T is the radiant temperature of the body (b = 2,897,768.551 nm·K.) \[T=2897768.551 \times 4.94 \times 10^{15} \approx 1.4315 \times 10^{22} K\]

yes.. you can do this using the above method.. wein's displacement law!!

Cool thanks for confirming it :D
