the gradient function of a curve is px^2-qx,where p and q are constant .the curve has a turning point at (2,-5).the gradient of the tangent to the curve at the point x=2 is 16.find the value of p and q.

OpenStudy (callisto):

1. Find the derivative of px^2-qx 2. Set the derivative =0 to isolate x. Then, set it = 2 <- equation 1 3. Put the derivative = 16 <- equation 2 4. Solve the two equations.
