Given the reaction: 8Au + 3Pv4 -> 4Auv2Pv3 How many moles of Auv2Pv3 will be formed when 197 grams of Au reacts completely with Pv4?

find the amount of moles you have: moles=mass/molar mass then use the coefficients to find how many moles you can produce
when I do mass/molar mass i get 0.396, I don't understand the second part
so you have: 8Au + 3P4 -> 4Au2P3 0.396 moles notice that for every 8 of Au you use, you make 4 of the product \[\frac{ 0.396 moles}{ 8 Au }=\frac{ x moles }{ 4 }\] solve for x = 0.198 moles so you can make that many moles of you product (assuming you have unlimited amounts of P)
Okay thanks again:)!
would we cross multiply the equation to get 0.198?
yes, isolate x, multiply both sides by 4
no prob !
