What is the center for the circle below(see attachment) then find the equation of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3,5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so can you put this equation into standard form? x^2+y^2+6x-10y+9=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thx anyways

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NP try googling it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RadEn can you help me? i need to put this equation x^2+y^2+6x-10y+9=0 into standard form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to complete the square?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm what do you mean @dpaInc ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i have put x's and y's togethe rand i got x^2 + 6x + y^2 - 10y + 9 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would this be correct? (x^2 + 6x + 3^2) + (y^2 - 10y + 5^2) 9 = 3^2 + 5^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i tried to solve the above equation and i got (x - 3)^2 + (y + 5)^2 = 43 would this be correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you there? @dpaInc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would this be the answer (x + 3)^2 + (y - 5)^2 - 25 = 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can leave it as (x + 3)^2 + (y - 5)^2 = 25 because this is called center-radius form for the equation of a circle...
