This is my private essay, I had a similar subject. “Drawing on any five of the ten source texts, disscus the relative importance of ‘nature versus nurture’ predictors of happiness” The thing paradoxical, which can make us happier it: acceptance negative and positive emotions. The paradox is that while living normally, we allow to himself a lot of negative emotions, then we open ourselves to positive emotions and conversely. Thereby question arises - what makes us happy? Topic assignment refers to a nature versus nurture as predictors of happiness hence the discussion will be psychological background. Significant problem associated with the functioning human is to seek answers to the question: what to do, how to behave, and be guided in their choices, to have a sense of happiness, fulfillment, and satisfaction? Such feelings often accompanied by continued success in important areas of life, and therefore psychology, trying to find an answer to this question. Moreover, in the later part of the essay we find the answer to the question - what makes us happy? Is it brains, thoughts or relationships? Thesis dichotomy also appears, which "should not be seen as requiring or choices". The ideal preface will be quotation: “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” (W. Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act II, Scene 2) Happiness attracts great attention of many psychologists who undertook research the level of happiness. In general, they were involved in unhappiness or depression. Happiness was not accepted as positive psychology – nobody at all, is not wondered about it... “One of the first things that must be done before investigating a topic is to define it. Happiness is not an easy quality to define. However we can agree on a simple definition of happiness as a positive feeling covering a range of emotions from joy to contentment” (Spoors at al., 2007, material ) - and conversely. The above definition happiness is totally opposed to the dichotomy, because the dichotomy is divided into two parts, for example: joy and sorrow, which are mutually exclusive and simultaneously create a whole. The above definition is totally opposed to the dichotomy, because the dichotomy is divided into two parts, for example, joy and sorrow, which are mutually exclusive and simultaneously create a whole. A proven example is the wedding the bride’s. Mother cries for daughter’s wedding, but simultaneously she has enjoyed. This kind of happiness is associated with feelings and emotions that people feel the depending on the situation in which they find themselves. In connection with this it can be concluded of “happiness and unhappiness cannot be viewed as opposite or mutually exclusive". According to the assumptions of this concept, the pursuit of happiness, which you want each person is driven by human activities, and at the same time a source of satisfaction, fulfillment, and sometimes a sense of success. Therefore, the benefits associated with happiness include: better health, well-being, a lot greater activity level, willingness to help, and better relationships with others. Unfortunately, these emotions are alien to people unhappy. They are desperate withdrawn from normality and practically inactive. Asking yourself questions what makes us happy one can focus on our brains, our thoughts and our relationship too. On the one hand an enormous influence for this type of factors has 'nature' and on the other hand 'nurture'. A healthy lifestyle and a happy brain this nurture issues, because "in order for us to have a sense of wellbeing and happiness, our brains and bodies need a consistent source of food and oxygen” (Spoors at al., 2007, pp.26 - 9, material). Primary role is also the blood sugar level, which reaching the optimal level causes you to feel comfortable and happy. Conversely with low blood sugar, because the deficiency we irritations and fatigue. Despite everything, this is not the only factor affecting the level of our happiness because physical exercises also contribute to a feeling of happiness. A perfect example is the newborn, for example, "at 10 months a baby whose brain is more active on the left side is less distressed when the mother disappears for a moment than a baby whose brain is more active on the right side. At two and a half years old, a left brain active toddler will explore a new situation while a right brain active toddler will stick close to mother. This early difference between young children does suggest that to some extent we may inherit our happiness level, and further research has supported this suggestion" (Spoors at al., 2007, pp.26 - 9 material). The relative importance of nature versus nurture as predictors of happiness in consequently is part of our thoughts. As mentioned in the introduction essay quoted, nothing is evil or good. Everything you people are doing is the de facto choice ourselves. Is not a requirement but a way of thinking of every person. Some are optimistic and look at life through the prism of positive emotions, so too, feel happier and healthier. However, people expressed a negative view of life are irritable and experienced more bitter moments. Those who are curious, full of enthusiasm and dedication have high chances of success. If we have our own vision of the action, if we know where we are going, if our life is arranged, and it makes sense, then we can conclude that we have a positive attitude. Negative thinking causes stress, because it destroys our trust in the fact that we are able to complete the task before us. Actually, it is positive thinking (along with awareness and rational thinking) is a useful in the fight against stress and uncertainty. The best predictor of happiness and well-being is the time spent with family, friends, loved ones. Unfortunately, our world is shrinking valuable time. Then we have the time to sit down and talk with the other person - without another call on the other line, with someone else - just to be with her. A good summary can be “relationships can frustrate us and relationships can cause deep emotional pain, but our close relationships with other people – partners, family and friends – continue to be the most important source of human happiness” (Spoors at al., 2007, pp. 83 - 5 material). Around us and in us is a great deposit of luck. The problem is that this is only appreciated when they happen to us something terrible.
