Explain Louis de Broglie's contribution to the quantum model of the atom.

OpenStudy (kainui):

Basically people were all talking about how light behaves like a wave and a particle and de Broglie was like, hell... If waves act like particles, can we model particles as waves? Sure enough we've done many experiments proving that particles behave like waves, specifically in the case of de Broglie, he postulated the wavelength of the electron. But everything has a wavelength and frequency, even you, me, baseballs, etc... The reason you can't tell is because we're so much bigger that it's undetectable.
