Tara works in a clothing store where she earns a base salary of $100 per day plus percent of her daily sales. She sold $800 in clothing on Saturday and $1500 in clothing on Sunday. How much did she earn over the two days?
I need some Help!
What is the percentage that she earns from her sales? Looks like it got left out of the problem.
oh sorry 12
well wouldn't you just do \[800+ 1500 =?\]

ok ill try that
i got 2852 0.0
476
i got 1097.6
if its wrong i probably sound really stupid
wait why am i adding
those 2 numbers
12%=0.12 The amount she earns on any given day can be expressed as\[M=100+0.12 \times S\]where S is the total price of sales for that day. Plugging in S for Saturday for example gives\[M=100+0.12 \times 800=100+96\]Can you do Sunday? After you get that, just add them together!
where does 96 come from
can anyone answer where 96 comes from
I have no idea
ok
800 times 0.12 is 96
y did u put another equal sign and added 100 plus 96
100+0.12 x 800 is the same as 100 + 96 I was simplifying part of the equation.
ok thank you for clearing that up
No problem. Is it clear now?
yes so M=196
For Saturday, yep! Then you just need to do Sunday, and then add the money she made Saturday to the money she made Sunday.
oh ok thank you ill do that n tell u what i get
Ok! :)
he got 280 for Sunday and Sundays pay + Saturdays pay='s 476
Exactly! :)
thank you and thank you
you really r a lifesaver
I like helping people, and I like math. Thus the combination of those two things is super awesome!
lol that is a great thing
