Can you please help me with this? What is the slope of a line that passes through the point (−5, 3) and is parallel to a line that passes through (2, 13) and (−4, −11)?

If the line is parallel it will have the same slope. You can find the slope of the second line with the equation m=(-11-13)/(-4-2). with this slope you just need to find the y-intercept and you have a line.

the first part is unimportant for the question to find the slope of the line through \((2,13)\) and \((-4,-11)\) reason that from \(-4\) to \(2\) is 6 steps to the right, from \(-11\) to \(13\) is 24 steps up so the slope is \(\frac{24}{6}=4\)

or you can compute as follows \[m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{13+11}{2+4}=\frac{24}{6}=4\]
