I would say False. Although in general, a larger range implies having a larger standard deviation, it is NOT ALWAYS true. For example: Set A: 60, 80, 80, 80, 80, 100 Set B: 62, 62, 62, 98, 98, 98 The range of set A is larger than range of set B, but if you calculate the standard deviation, set B's standard deviation is actually larger. In true/false questions like this one, the statement has to be true for ALL cases. Since the range is not always directly related to the standard deviation, the answer is false. Do you need more explanation?

SO you could imagine a situation where two sets could possibly have the SAME standard deviation as well. Which is why the answer would be false.
