how do you find marginal cost?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The manager of a restuarant found that the cost to produce 100 omelets is $78.31, while the cost to produce 1000 omelets is $600.31. Assume the C(x) is a linear function of x, the number of omelets produced. Find the cost function and use it to evaluate the cost of producting 1700 omelets and 1701 omelets. Then find the marginal cost of the 1701st omelet and any omelet. C(x)=0.580x+20.31 is the formula for C(x). total cost of producing 1700 omelets is $1006.31.. and the 1701st omelet is 1006.89

marginal cost for the 1701st omelet is $0.58, what is the marginal cost for any omelet
