whats the product of these two?
the attach file has the problem in it
\[\frac{4}{25}x^2-\frac{9}{16}y^4\]
can you show me how you got that answer? im reviewing a tet i already know the answer but not how to slve.
thanks for trying to help zepdrix
\[\large \left(\frac{2}{5}x-\frac{3}{4}y^2\right)\quad \text{and} \quad \left(\frac{2}{5}x+\frac{3}{4}y^2\right)\]These are CONJUGATES of one another. See how everything about them is the same except for the SIGN between them? When you multiply conjugates, the result is the DIFFERENCE of SQUARES. Example:\[\large (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2\]See how the answer gave us a couple of square terms being subtracted? In our problem it'll be just a little more complex since we have the fractions (and the different powers on x and y).
But the basic idea is, you'll take the FIRST term in the FIRST brackets, multiply it by the FIRST term in the SECOND brackets, SUBTRACT from that, SECOND term in the FIRST brackets, multiplied by the SECOND term in the SECOND brackets.
Confused by any of that? <:o
i sent you a message
+_+
thans for your help i totally understand it
