Help Please! A sample of iron was heated to 125.0ºC, then placed into 375g of water at 19.8ºC. The temperature of the water rose to 29.7ºC. How many grams of iron where in the sample?
What would be the set up?

Help please.
I remember doing this in High school but not sure what the method is. I am tooo lazy to bring down my notes
You did this in High School? Ha I'm doing this in college but its okay thanks.
I did it in 12th grade
I am doing this freshman year in college and having trouble with it.
The fundamental concept is that heat lost = heat gained. Heat is lost by the iron rod and gained by the water. Heat lost by iron = m.s.(Ti-Tf). Heat gained by water is m.s. (Ti-Tf). Can you do this from here? s= specific heat, m = mass.
