(I also only need to solve using one method and I know it would be elimination or substution)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Substitution is the best for the last one
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Elimination for the first two
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I finished the first 2 I'm just confused with the last

In the third one, you already have y as the subject.

You just substitute
\[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x-6\] for every "y" you see in the second equation.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[2x+6(\frac{1}{2}x -6)=19\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Do you know how to work it out from there?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah I believe so, thank you

No worries.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So wait, is this correct then
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2x + 6 [ (1/2)x - 6 ] = 19
2x + 3x - 36 = 19
5x = 55
x = 11
y = 11/2 - 6
y = -1/2
x = 11 , y = -1/2

reminds me I should make a tutorial on solving linear equations in openstudy :)

Correct @veganbee Awesome work.
