OpenStudy (dls):

Why is the element being oxidised a good reducing agent and vice versa?

OpenStudy (dls):

@shubhamsrg @Yahoo! @Vincent-Lyon.Fr

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

Since it is being oxidised, it'll by default reduce some other element, and hence is a reducing agent.

OpenStudy (dls):

u made my question more complicated :P try to ellab!!

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

See, the total charge is always balanced right, if it gets oxidised (loses electrons) , the lost electrons will be added to some other element(hence that element is reduced)

OpenStudy (dls):

total charged balanced hota hai? :P

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

haa. aur kya? warna baki ka charge kaha jayega ?

OpenStudy (dls):

baki ka kaunsa charge?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

are jo element charge lose karega wo wala charge koi aur element gain kar lega,
